“Chandler’s a guy who’s not comfortable in his own skin; he’s got a great excuse to be funny,” Perry once said. “He’s an exaggerated form of me.”
Perry has written two books: Diamond of Dalonia (2015) and Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing (2022). He was nominated five times for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series” in 2002; “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series” in 2003 and 2004; “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie” in 2007; and “Outstanding Variety Special” in 2021.
Perry’s former co-stars on the hit show paid tribute to him.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend,” said Matt LeBlanc, who played the dimwitted but loveable Joey Tribbiani on the show. Mathew Perry and Matt LeBlanc were an iconic duo on the show, as Chandler and Joey always shared amazing moments.
“He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the six of us” said Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel on the show.
Mathew Perry was a legend and part of a cast and show that made history. He will always be remembered by friends, family, and co-workers.
