One of Fort Hamilton High School’s top priorities is to make sure students leave well-prepared for life beyond high school. On December 12, 2024, Fort Hamilton High School held a Career Fair that seniors could attend to learn more about various professional fields and dream about their futures. National Guard, The New York Mets, NYU Langone Healthcare, and other careers were among several professions represented at the career fair to showcase the various options students have for their futures.
The Career Fair addressed the growing concern of educators and families about how prepared our students are for what lies ahead in the world. As many students near graduation with uncertainty about what to study or what profession to pursue, events like this become an important way to help students make decisions about their futures.
The event was eye-opening and an inspiration for senior Brandon Chen.
“People from different organizations were there to share their excitement and stories showing what it is like to work in their fields,” he said. “In the busy halls, people moved around; their faces showed interest and excitement. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of opportunity as students and future workers considered their paths, motivated by the options available to them.”
Students found the energy of the presenters and the clear passion they had for their chosen professions infectious.
“The enthusiasm of the representatives made it a worthwhile experience, even if it didn’t fully match every attendee’s expectations,” Chen added.
Fort Hamilton High School’s Career Fair is one more example of the school’s interest in the success of its students by offering them, along with information, inspiration to forge their own path with confidence.
