Dear Starcatcher,
How do you maintain a good friendship?
Sincerely,
PinkGuava
Dearest PinkGuava,
That’s a very good question! It is a challenging question for many, especially as we move into summer vacation and college for some! My advice? Be yourself! Authenticity is key when keeping a friendship alive! Embrace your unique qualities and interests, and don’t be afraid to show your beautiful true self. The right friends will appreciate you for who you are. Another point that I think helps maintain friendships is communication. Communication is key! Stay in touch with your friends regularly and share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with each other!
Sincerely,
Starcatcher
Dear Starcatcher,
How to use my time more efficiently and not get lazy?
Sincerely,
The random kid
Dearest The random kid,
I think that this is a question that many students ask themselves. Trying to maintain motivation and managing your time can be a slippery slope! I advise attempting to use the Pomodoro Technique, a time management technique coined by entrepreneur Francesco Cirillo. This technique involves working in focused 25 minute work periods that are followed by a short break that’s usually five minutes long. However, when it comes to avoiding laziness, you might need a little more than a five minute break. Sometimes it’s best to step away and process where the laziness is coming from and try to tackle it! If it has to do with physical or emotional problems, try getting more sleep, eating a nutritious meal, exercising, or taking a break to relax and recharge.
Sincerely,
Starcatcher
Dear Starcatcher,
How do you become successful?
Sincerely,
Rue
Dear Rue,
Success. Everybody wants it. The first thing to remember about success is that it’s a journey and not a destination. It’s about progress and finding joy in what you do. If you stay true to yourself and stay open to learning and growing along the way, you’ve already achieved success. To first find success, you have to figure out and define what that means to you. Once you do that, you must work hard and seek knowledge to continue moving down that path. Success can be a very personal thing and is different to everyone but is a journey that we all must go through to become healthy and well-rounded citizens and students!
Sincerely,
Starcatcher
