On the morning of May 31, 2023, the Coordinator of Student Activities for Fort Hamilton, Ms. De Paula, sent out an email to students enabling them to exercise their right to vote for the candidates running for positions in the Student Organization and Senior Council.
The positions included Sophomore Senator, Junior Senator, Senior Council Members, Senior Council President, Parliamentarian, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and school President. Voting started at 6:00 AM on May 31, 2023 and closed at 11:59 PM on June 1, 2023.
Rising Sophomores were subject to vote for the Sophomore Senator, rising Juniors were subject to vote for the Junior Senator, and rising Seniors were meant to vote for Senior Council Members and Senior Council President. All grades, except graduating seniors, were allowed to vote for Parliamentarian, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and School President.
Results of the ballots came in on the following morning of June 2, 2023.
Chanel Chen won the race for Sophomore Senator. Fort Hamilton’s next Junior Senator is Hector Jaco. The new Senior Council Members are Destiny Fuentes, Allison Hsu, and Michael Lin. The Senior Council President is Angie Bahcja. Joanna Ascher is the new Parliamentarian. The new Secretary is Devin Wong. Fort Hamilton’s next Treasurer is Niki Dong. The Vice President is Samuel Sergeyev. And finally, Isabel Begollari is Fort Hamilton’s new School President.
