Fort hosted its annual Club Fair on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. The Girls’ Gym emitted positivity as club advisors, students, and representatives filled the gym with inviting posters, sweet treats, and warm smiles.
Both established and brand-new clubs presented themselves to our diverse student body, helping them grow their groups. This year, approximately 60 clubs were on display, where many students had the opportunity to discover projects and events that could pique their interests.
Student Activities Coordinator Mr. Alvear expressed his gratitude for the Club Fair and explained why it is such a necessary event for Fort students who are interested in extracurricular activities but unsure of where to begin.
“At the club fair, you don’t have to find clubs; they find you,” he told The Pilot.
The club fair afforded students a chance to familiarize themselves with and explore what our school community has to offer. Whether one is an incoming student adjusting to the bustling halls or looking to get out of their comfort zone, clubs are a great way for students to find a safe space and can help them find their community.
“The club fair helps people connect with others through common interests,” said Lucas Ming Liu, a junior and treasurer for the American Red Cross Club. “I encourage everyone to get involved; it’ll truly help you build a sense of community.”
If you weren’t able to attend the club fair, many clubs make publicity one of their main priorities and advertise all year round. There are a plethora of colorful, inviting, and unique posters with QR codes that link to the clubs’ Google Classroom page that can be spotted all across the school.
